Thank you for your interst in John Paul the Great Academy! Our application process is as follows:
Prospective Family Application Process
2. Schedule a tour of the school (appointment necessary)
3. Schedule a Shadow Day
4. Take an Entry Placement Test
5. Schedule an interview with the Admissions Committee (if applicable)
6. Submit Online Application and documents:
Transcripts (1st - 12th) & available test scores
Copy of birth certificate
Copy of Baptism certificate
Recommendation from your Catholic Pastor* (see sidebar)
7. Pay Fees**
Application Fee of $300 for one student/$500 (family maximum) for two or more students
Enrollment Fee of $500/student
Academic/Building & Grounds Fee of $225 (may be paid now or tacked onto tuition)
Please note that all documents must be submitted and all fees must be paid before your application is processed.
The deadline to complete the admissions process is July 15. Applications received after June 1 will inquire a $100 late fee.
*If your family is not Roman Catholic, but practicing in another Christian denomination, a recommendation from your church's pastor will be accepted with prior approval from the Admissions Office.

Once we receive the submitted online application with all documents and fees, your family will be notified of the school's decision regarding your child's admission within two weeks. Upon admission, you will receive an official Acceptance Packet in the mail with more information regarding the next school year.

Students are considered for acceptance according to the following criteria:
a) Family’s Catholic identity and participation in parish life,
b) Presence of siblings currently enrolled at the school,
c) Current or past relationship of family to the school, and
d) Student’s disposition and opportunity for success in a classical academic environment.
John Paul the Great Academy is a lay-owned and lay-operated Catholic school that features a classical curriculum. It is incorporated under the laws of the State of Louisiana and is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. The Academy offers grades PK3-12.
John Paul the Great Academy is a full member of the National Association of Private Catholic Independent Schools (NAPCIS).
The Academy is also a non-public approved school with the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, meaning that all diplomas are recognized by the State, and automatically transferrable to other schools.
John Paul the Great Academy admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
