John Paul the Great Academy is organized and registered as a Louisiana non-profit corporation and is a registered non-profit educational organization under Internal Revenue Service Code 501 (c) (3). John Paul the Great Academy is an independent Catholic school in decision-making powers and finances. We have no specific connection to a particular parish nor are we funded by a parish. This independent status allows our school to cultivate an environment and community that closely suits the desires of parents who are the primary educators of children. The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) an eight-member committee elected by parents, is the liason between the Parents of the School and the Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of John Paul the Great Academy and, as such, has responsibility for the school’s policies, mission, and strategic vision. The board is also responsible for the granting and conferring of diplomas. The business, property, and financial affairs are managed by the board of trustees who are active, committed Roman Catholics.
The Chairman serves as the presiding officer at all meetings of the Board. The Board of Trustees holds regular, monthly meetings as well as an annual retreat.
The Head of School is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the School and is responsible for the School’s academic curriculum, accreditation, and administration.
