Happy Easter to you all. May the joy of the resurrection illuminate your lives during this season of hope. One of my favorite Easter stories is the road to Emmaus. It is the story of two disciples who, out of fear and confusion, leave Jerusalem following the suffering and death of Christ but have a radical encounter with the resurrection along the way. In this encounter, we see a glimpse of one of the most important parts of education: the joy of learning.

The starting point for becoming more active as a primary educator is pursuing the goal of education in each of our own lives. However, we have yet to explore concrete ways of pursuing this goal. Becoming more active in the education of our children can be frustrating without clear, simple, and easy methods we can incorporate into our daily lives. Here, I will present three simple and time-effective habits for becoming more active as a primary educator based on the great conversation.

In the first article, we discussed the nature of the partnership between parents and teachers as co-educators. As parents, we have an essential role as the primary educators of our children. We know how important it is to actively pursue this role, but it can be difficult to discern what this actually means in terms of our daily lives. This leads to a practical question. How do we, as parents, fulfill our responsibility as primary educators of our children? Where do we even begin?

The partnership between parents and teachers is invaluable. Our school community would be nothing without it. Because of how essential you are to the life of our school, I would like to offer an invitation to you, our parents, and to our faculty and staff, to enter more deeply into this partnership through a series of reflections throughout the upcoming months featured here in the Guardian.

Pray with us as our high school students travel on pilgrimage to Washington, DC for the 41st annual March for Life. We will be praying for you!
